Ways Unhealed Trauma Can Manifest
Unhealed trauma can manifest in your life without you even realizing it. One significant way it may appear is in the partners you choose. For a long time, I was unaware that I was consistently attracting a specific type of person and why I was making those choices. As I continue to heal through therapy and learn to love myself, I am beginning to understand the patterns I once followed. I tend to be a rescuer; I enjoy helping others and believe I can help everyone. While this isn't inherently negative, it can become detrimental when it turns toxic, ultimately causing harm to me.In my journey of self-discovery, I've realized that my desire to rescue others often stems from a deep-seated need for validation and a fear of abandonment. This pattern of behavior has led me to relationships where my emotional needs were sidelined, and my well-being compromised. It's a cycle that I am determined to break.
Through therapy, I've learned the importance of setting healthy boundaries and recognizing my worth and i dont need approval. I'm learning to focus on putting myself first, ensuring that my cup is full before pouring into others. This shift in perspective allowing me to choose relationships that are mutually supportive and fulfilling.
As I continue to heal, I am practicing self-love and self-compassion, acknowledging that it's okay to prioritize my needs and desires. I'm discovering the strength that lies in vulnerability and the power of authenticity. By embracing who I am, I am attracting healthier, more balanced connections that enrich my life.
This journey is continuous, and although it may not always be straightforward, I often face challenges. It also means I am less willing to tolerate situations that don't serve me, and I refuse to settle for another partner who cannot recognize my value or put in equal effort.I am committed to surrounding myself with relationships that uplift and inspire, where mutual respect and understanding are at the core. This path requires courage and self-awareness, as I navigate the complexities of love and connection with a renewed sense of purpose.
