Thriving, Not Just Surviving

Making a career and a life

I will always remember the day I became chronically ill. Leaving that appointment, I made a promise to myself: I will not let this define who I am, nor will I allow it to confine me to my bed. I refuse to become bitter; instead, I will find ways to function and create the life and career I desire. I won't sugarcoat it—this journey has been challenging. There were many days spent in bed when I wasn't working or caring for my children. I had to change my career, which meant studying while dealing with illness, and on some days, I felt utterly exhausted and tempted to give up. I faced moments in the hospital, had to take numerous days off, and often found myself uncertain about what was happening with my body.

As time went on, my work became increasingly challenging, and with my doctor's guidance, I made the difficult decision to transition to supported living. I focused on working 15 hours a week, but gradually even that began to decrease to i gave up my job to focus on recover for this neurological issues. Im super grateful for making the decsion In 2001, I discovered my passion for blogging, which eventually evolved into a career as a life coach, Reiki practitioner, and facilitator of a women's group. My mission has been to help others find their healing and demonstrate that they too can thrive. Part of my healing journey involved taking courses and joining Juice Plus, where I worked my way up the ranks. I was also featured in my first book published by She Rises and appeared in several magazines.

The reason I'm sharing this chapter of my journey is to offer you hope, inspire you, and provide a reason to persevere. We all flourish in our unique ways, despite the challenges and limitations we face.
