New Years 2024 looked rather different

On December 31st, I sad goodbye to the parts that allowed me to bring children into the world through a full hysterectomy and endometriosis cleanup. Due to in adequate care, the unpredictability of endo over time, my abdominal wall had fused to my pelvis, the necessary removal of mirena to allow me to live life with less pain. The main concern was how my functional neurological disorder (FND) would respond to this additional trauma. Unfortunately, it triggered symptoms that impacted my walking and speech. Honestly, it's frightening; one moment I'm fine, and the next, I'm not.But through it all, I've learned to embrace each day with gratitude and resilience. Every challenge has taught me something new about myself and my capacity to adapt. This journey has not been easy, but it has been transformative. I've realized the importance of listening to my body and honoring its needs, even when it's inconvenient or uncomfortable.

As I continue to navigate life with FND and the aftermath of surgery, I am committed to focusing on the positives. Each day is a new opportunity to celebrate small victories, whether it's taking a few steps unassisted or completing a sentence without hesitation. These moments, though seemingly small, are significant milestones in my healing journey.

Despite the unpredictability and the hurdles, I choose to embrace life with an open heart and a hopeful spirit. Each day holds the promise of new beginnings and the potential for healing and growth. This journey has taught me that I am stronger than I ever imagined, and that with resilience and determination, anything is possible.

in the midst of these challenges, i find moments of resilience and hope. Each day is an opportunity to adapt and learn more about myself and my condition. It's acknowledging the limitations and pushing the boundaries of what I can achieve. The unpredictability of FND means that I have to be gentle with myself, allowing room for both setbacks and wins, no matter how small.

I've realized the importance of celebrating the small wins—like a day when walking feels a bit easier or when my speech flows more smoothly. These moments, however fleeting, are reminders of my progress and resilience. While the journey may be daunting, it's also a testament to my strength and determination.

As I continue to heal and adapt, I am learning to embrace every part of my journey, including the challenges. They shape me into a stronger, more resilient person. I hold onto the belief that, with time and patience, I will find a new way to do life—one that balances acceptance with hope and courage.
