Unforeseen Realities: The Unexpected Need for Support
It's surprising how the tables have turned – after four years of taking care of and supporting others, now it's me who requires assistance in navigating through life's challenges.
The number of individuals involved in my care has significantly increased, which can feels overwhelming. Hearing phrases like "you may not fully recover from this" is incredibly challenging, as is being told to "adapt to a new life." Adjusting to the idea of living differently also tough to hear.
Three years ago has forever changed my life and I learnt to manage in my own weird way, still doing things at my level learning to manage my pain, illnesses but this has been the hardest battle, slowly have become worst and some days are brutal.
What is post concussion syndrome
Post-concussion syndrome is a condition that can occurs after a person has experienced a concussion, which is a mild traumatic brain injury. Symptoms look like this for me headaches, dizziness, fatigue, memory problems, difficulty concentrating, irritability, and sleep disturbances.
Inner ear balance damage
I have damage to the inner ear that's having a significant impact on my balance and overall sense of equilibrium. My inner ear plays a crucial role in helping the body maintain balance by detecting changes in head position and movement this delicate system has been compromised, my symptoms dizziness, vertigo, unsteadiness, and difficulty with coordination.
This is just what they are familiar with; additional tests are necessary. It's a journey of recovery and adapting to this new normal, while releasing the past.
